The Wedding Process: A little information on what to expect
HOW DO WE CREATE YOUR PERFECT WEDDING CEREMONY?
♡ Availability check: Let’s make sure I’m available for your wedding date, then we will have an obligation-free chat to see if I am the right celebrant for you – making sure we “click”. I am based in Waihi Beach and Mt Eden, however if you live further afield we can easily set up a meeting through FaceTime or Skype.
♡ The first meeting: Here we will discuss the general ideas you have and what type of ceremony you want. I will share what I can offer as a celebrant; give you a general guideline of a marriage ceremony and answer any questions you have. From here, should we choose to collaborate, you may take some time to think about it or book me then and there.
♡ Deposit: Once we decide to proceed, you can secure me for your wedding day with a $300 deposit (refundable up until 3 months before your wedding date). The final balance will be due before the rehearsal. I make sure to only book one wedding per day (2 per week max), because I want your marriage ceremony to be my total focus for that day.
♡ Inspo Material: To proceed further with the planning, I have an extensive library of resources that will help you get the ball rolling and provide some inspiration. This pack includes vow samples, poems, readings, symbolic rituals and more. I have plenty of suggestions to help you write words “from the heart.” Legal requirements pertaining to a marriage ceremony will also be included.
♡ Creation of the Ceremony: When you’re ready, we will have a second meeting to discuss your thoughts and ideas, plus any decisions you have made. I will ask you both questions, so that I can get to know you better as a couple and have a good understanding of your unique love story. This is a vital part of building the ceremony. After this meeting, I will construct the first draft, which we will tweak and amend until it is exactly the way you want it to be. I will then send you the final copy.
THE REHEARSAL
♡ Although a rehearsal is optional, it is highly recommended and should be held as close to the wedding day as possible. It’s a good idea to invite the key people involved in your ceremony so we can plan where the wedding party will stand, the roles of those involved and preemptively solve any issues that may arise. We will also practise the bride and bridesmaids walking to the chosen music and “walk through” the ceremony.
YOUR WEDDING DAY
♡ I will arrive 30 mins before your ceremony to ensure everything is in place as we have discussed. All you need to do is arrive at the venue and enjoy and treasure the magical moments as I make your marriage official. After your wedding day, I will register your marriage as required by law and I will send you a fine copy of your ceremony.
